Google announces their own Web browser - no Mac version yet

Google Chrome
Google has launched their own Web browser called Google Chrome. The public beta, which will be available Tuesday morning for Windows only, is based in part on Apple's WebKit and Mozilla's Firefox. It promises it's own Javascript Virtual Machine, a new Tab method, and much more.

You can read more about it here. Google states that a Mac and Linux version of their open-source browser is on the way.

Great.

Great, another mouth to feed.

LOL! You're probably right.

I'm sure most Web developers aren't overjoyed at the thought of having yet another browser to worry about.

Forget it if you're behind a proxy!!

Chrome was released as a premature baby. Just using it for several minutes i noticed tons of proxy issues:

1. Chrome uses IE's option menus & Proxy settings.
2. It will not save your login if you are behind a user auth. proxy.
3. If you're behind a proxy just go ahead and uninstall because it won't run any https sites. EVEN GMAIL!! I even scoured the internet looking for solutions to no avail, just a ton of other people as disappointed as i was.
