This may already be know to most people but I though it was good to mention that the easiest way to convert fractions to decimals is with a calculator.

One day, I was looking at the division symbol "/" on a calculator and I thought to myself that was the same as the fraction symbol. It then dawned on me to treat the fraction as a algorithm to get the equivalent decimal value.

i.e.; 13/64 = 13 "divided by" 64 = .203125

So as long as you have access to a calculator (and if you are on the computer, you probably do) then use this tip for your decimal conversions.

Hmm. I hadn't thought of that. Of course, there's that whole issue of being too lazy to even turn ON the calculator...

I've been super happy with this handy dashboard widget called Decimator, which can stay small when you don't need it and expand when you do, and then goes the extra step of copying the decimal you click to the clipboard.
