Previewing .abr files

Is there a way to preview photoshop brushes before you load them into PS? I tried Bridge because it seemed like a plausible option, but no luck.

If I do load a crapload of brushes into PS will it slow down launch/performance?

Is there a script/action out there that will automatically make a contact sheet of each brush in the set? (and lets you specify the size at which they output?)

-Graphic Mac please help.

Should be no problem loading

I have hundreds of brushes loaded and notice no slow-downs launching Photoshop at all (then again, I rarely quit the app anyway).

I don't know of a way to preview the brushes without actually loading them. However, once they're loaded, you can try each one and delete just the ones you don't like.

There's an open source .abr

There's an open source .abr brush previewing utility available for free, but it's a Windows-only goodie.

I have a tough time understanding why some enterprising code geek hasn't created one for Macs.

Below is a link to an article about using the ABRviewer, with a link to download it, should you happen to be using Windows:

EDIT/ADDENDUM:

STOP THE PRESSES!!!
Looks like there's finally an ABRviewer for Mac OS X!!! Whoo Hoo!

Rockin'

Thanks for the info/link!
This is exactly what I was inquiring about. I like how it saves .png files of the each brush as well. This will surely help me organize all my sets. Thanks again!

Many thanks for your help!
