Google Chrome gets a new icon
Google has dropped the robotic chrome icon in favor of a new, flattened and more balanced icon for their Chrome browser. The open source version of Chrome, Chromium, got the refresh last week, and now the Developer Builds now sport the new look.
The new logo should work it’s way down into the beta and stable release version soon. While I had nothing against the old icon, the new version is definitely more recognizable in the OS X Dock. The only problem I see with it now is that it looks too much like Google Picasa.

Absolutely despise the new icon :o(
The old one is much, much better.
You all miss the point, it looks awesome with the right 3d-glasses!
I like the simplicity. It stands out in the Dock.
I googled ‘new chrome icon’ because I noticed my icon suddenly looks shit.
I’m usually reactionary when there are changes to things I’m used to on the internet, so maybe t’ll grow on me. I kinda like it as an image but the 3d version feels more like a real doorway into the internet and this seems flat and feeble.
Wow. This looks horrible. I almost thought it was a third rate attempt to redirect my homepage or hijack my browser to steal info. This looks like the work of a third grader. I don’t see how this can be viewed as an improvement. If so, I need a job with Google.
