Good tip! Worth adding that there is also an option of choosing your spacing value in the align panel. It can be set to a specific pixel value or left on Auto.

Great tip! It’s also worth noting that if you go to the align panel options menu (upper right of the align panel) and select “Show Options”, you can get to the button that allows you to change the behavior of the alignment buttons. The choices are, “Align to Selection”, “Align to Key Object”, and “Align to Artboard”.

I personally find the Align to Artboard option very handy.
