Use TouchSwitcher to launch and switch between apps on the new MacBook Pro with TouchBar. The most recent apps are right next to the TouchSwitcher icon. Juggling several apps is fast and easy.

I’m not sure if it’s easier than using the Dock or not, but it’s worth trying for yourself.
