Every year for the last nine years, Bill Gardner of LogoLounge.com puts out his eagerly anticipated Logo Design Trends report. The 2011 Logo Trends report is now available for your enjoyment. While last year’s logos seemed to favor “brighter” – this year is all about “lighter.”

I’ve also considered logo design to be one of the most difficult aspects of our business. You only get one shot. It’s not like an ad where you can change it next week if you don’t like it!

Great ideas to take into consideration when designing a logo to reflect the brand values of a company. In my opinion this is the single most important aspect in any logo, does it reflect what the brand does and what the brand is about? This can be one of the trickiest parts of any designers job. Even with this in mind it always feels that logo design and branding can be a favourite for designers because it is a challenge to create a lasting impression on an audience and trying to fit so much information, brand ethics and identity into such a small space.
