Firefox 4 leads Mac browsers in battery life
Microsoft has released a fairly extensive study of browser use on laptop computers and the effects on battery life. Not surprisingly, IE 9 comes out in the lead overall. As far as Mac browsers go, Firefox 4 takes the crown, followed by Chrome and Safari. Opera brings up the rear in the study.
I’m not sure about the usefulness of the information, as your use of the browser is only one aspect in terms of how long your MacBook’s battery lasts. And how many people use enough Watts of power just surfing the web? But the information provided is interesting nonetheless.

So I agree. It’s natural. I come around here every week, it’s in my top sites (under Safari).
On mac it’s quite the opposite, except for Opera, I’ve made some tests on battery and about the heat of the CPU too, the best for Mac, is Safari which don’t use a lot of battery and don’t make the MacBook Pro hot. The worst was Firefox, and about Chrome and Opera it’s quite the same.
7hours with Safari, about 5hours for Opera and Chrome and 4hours with Safari.
my own testing has show the opposite, i love ff4 but get horrible battery life on the mac when using it. with safari i get around the touted 7 hours.
While this is true, I suspect the same results would be found if run on Macs, though the numbers may change a bit.
My friends, the study says specifically that the computers used for are PCs, not macs.
So the results cannot mean anything about the Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Opera performance on Mac OS X
